JULY 31

JASON HAAS OF TABLAS CREEK

Tablas Creek may be one of the most influential wineries in the world. In 1990, the estate imported vine cuttings from the legendary Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape—a groundbreaking transcontinental exchange that helped redefine Rhône varietals in California. Since then, Tablas Creek’s stewardship of these vines has extended far beyond their own property, turning their vineyards into an incubator for viticultural innovation across Paso Robles and beyond.

AUG 21

JAMES SPARKS OF LIQUID FARM & KINGS CAREY

James Sparks and Liquid Farm reshaped the narrative of California Chardonnay in the early 2010s. With a focus on low-intervention, terroir-driven winemaking, their style was both a reaction to the overly oaked, buttery Chardonnays of the era and a defining voice of a new generation. Liquid Farm proved that restraint, minerality, and vineyard transparency could have commercial appeal—providing sommeliers and consumers with a fresh, compelling benchmark. Today, Sparks continues to lead Liquid Farm while crafting his personal project, Kings Carey—a label devoted to single-varietal, single-vineyard wines that aim to express American terroir with purity and precision.
